37 Weeks

16 Jan

How far along? 37 Weeks (and 4 days)
Total weight gain/loss: 3.8 pounds in 9 months and 3 weeks…. I finally did it! 🙂
Maternity clothes? On and off still
Best moment this week: Finally realizing that I get to meet her in less than a MONTH! DO YOU SEE THIS COUNTDOWN ON THE RIGHT SIDE??? IT SAYS 17 DAYS!!! WHAT????!!!! It will be single digits next week.  INSANE.
Movement: NO ROOM.  It seems that she favors my right side, lots of kicking and poking.  Sometimes, usually during the evening, I feel like she is going to “fall out.”  It’s a strange/uncomfortable sensation.  Moms- anyone else experience that?
Food cravings: Banana cream pie.
Gender: Girliest of girly baby Hokie fans 🙂
Labor Signs: Between 1-2.5 cm dilated! But that could last for months…. lots of uncomfortable Braxton Hicks- they are a strange feeling too.
Stretch marks? Yep….speaking of stretch marks…convo with the husband
Me: I have stretch marks now….do you still like me just as much?
Jeff: No offense babe- but you’ve had stretch marks since I’ve known you
*crickets*
What I miss: Sushi. Not feeling like a beached whale.

What I am looking forward to: The best is yet to come 🙂
Weekly Wisdom: Always fight for what you believe in! 🙂
Milestones:  Nursery is ready! The crib has sheets on it.  The stroller is put together.  Car seat is in. Changing pad is up.  Dresser is put together…we are ready!!!

How I Met the Pappy

29 Nov

All this baby talk on this blog- let’s talk about how she got here! (not literally)

Meet Jeff– the husband. aka the baby’s pappy (I’m the pappy! -NAME THAT MOVIE!)

Seriously- if you need pictures call/email them.  Joe did our wedding photos and is doing our maternity shoot next week.  He is awesome.  That is all)

How We Met: Labor Day weekend.  May 2008. In a bowling alley.

A picture from the first night we met with bestie from high school Liz, bestie Katie, Jeff, and his sister Jamie.

From the beginning: A few girlfriends and I made plans to go bowling for the evening.  One of them invited a few guys from work and Jeff happened to be one of the guys.  He brought along his sister and his (then) roomate, Howard.  After bowling, we went to T.G.I Fridays for dessert.  All I remember from that evening was meeting a nice, southern boy with a thick southern drawl- and I had to ask him to repeat every other sentence he spoke (not much has changed….).  I gave him my number (first- yeah! I did it! Made the first move!).  He texted me the next day and our first “date” was later that week at Maymont Park.
After that day, we would talk on the phone for hours (and I HATE talking on the phone- a good phone conversation for me is anything over 1 minute) and text back and forth all night.  I definitely enjoyed his company in the beginning- but Jeff was SO quiet and seemed TOO nice.  Eventually, the quietness wore off (I’m pretty sure he’s more chatty than I am) and although he is still nice- he has his own opinion now and is sure to voice it when needed! 🙂

The Proposal: Jeff proposed on July 16th, 2009.  We were closing on our first house (that we built) later that evening, all morning we had been moving in; so we were sweaty and not so glorious looking.  I walked into the living room from the kitchen and he was there on one knee in front of our closest friends and family.  I said yes! We went to close on the house, friends & family unpacked, and we all went out to celebrate after.
Except- what most people don’t know is the real “proposal” happened the night before.  I was one of those naggy horrible girlfriends that pestered about the ring; especially, since we were moving in together soon.  I think I said something along the lines of “apparently since I don’t have a ring yet, you aren’t taking this moving in together thing seriously.”  Needless to say, there was a ring tossed to me moments later…..Yep.  I’ll admit it.  I was wrong (<–see that? Just admitted I was wrong in writing).

We moved in that evening the two of us and Miss Molly-

adopted Mia February 2010-

and were married September 2010- more on that in another post!

So now- 4.5 years, 1 house, 2 dogs, and lots of love later- we’re expecting our first non-furry addition to the family…!

Happy (almost) weekend guys!

XOXO!
Cyn
